Brietta Greger

Brietta Greger is a local percussionist. After completing her Bachelors of Music from Chapman University and her Masters of Fine Arts in percussion from the California Institute of the Arts, she returned to her hometown of San Jose, CA. She currently teaches at the Rhythm Academy and performs all over the Bay Area. She is a member of the Monterey County Pops Orchestra and frequently performs with CMT, Los Altos Stage Company, City Lights, Palo Alto Players, and more community, regional, and professional theater companies. Recent performances include the South Bay premiere of “Lizzie” at City Lights Theater, two consecutive performance fellowships at nief-norf Summer Festival, including multiple world premieres, and West Coast premieres at the 66thand 69thAnnual Ojai Music Festivals. Brietta is also the Artistic Director of the Contemporary Commissions Project, a new music endeavor to commission and premiere contemporary chamber music in the Bay Area. Specialties include mallets, drum set, snare, orchestral, Latin and African hand drums, and North Indian classical tabla.
